What is H.265?

What is H.265?

High-Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), also known as  H.265  and  MPEG-H Part 2, is a video compression standard, one of the several potential successors to the widely used AVC (H.264 or MPEG-4 Part 10).

In comparison to AVC, HEVC offers double the data compression ratio at the same level of video quality or substantially improved video quality at the same bit rate. It supports resolutions up to 8192×4320, including 8K UHD.

Does EZ Pro Support H.265?

EZ Pro supports H.265 stream in General RTSP. You can add the camera stream which is compressed by H.265 by using RTSP URL.

Notice:

Since ONVIF protocol does not yet support H.265, so the H.265 integration will be specific model-oriented currently.

General RTSP will be the option to check the H.265 stream.
